Integrity Indonesia Enlivens the Spirit of Swiss National Day 2023
Swiss National Day is a historic day for Switzerland, celebrated on August 1st every year. It commemorates the founding of the Swiss Confederation and the independence of the country by three Alpine cantons in 1291.
The Swiss Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia celebrated Swiss National Day with an event at AYANA Midplaza. The event was attended by representatives from the Indonesian government, the Swiss community, and embassy partners, including representatives from the business community.
Integrity Indonesia was present as a guest and sponsor of the event. The festivities began with the singing of Indonesia Raya, led by the Indonesian music diva, Raisa.
A brief speech was delivered by the Swiss Ambassador to Indonesia, Timor Leste, and ASEAN, Mr. Olivier Zehnder, focusing on the theme of Unity and Plurality, in line with the spirit of Bhineka Tunggal Ika.
The event was also attended by the Foreign Minister of Indonesia, Ms. Retno Marsudi, who emphasized Switzerland’s role as a friendly nation and business partner of Indonesia.
In addition, Swiss National Day was celebrated with various Swiss cuisine and cultural performances, including the famous raclette cheese, served as the signature dish of the event. Participants also engaged in a toast celebration, symbolizing togetherness.
Swiss National Day is not only a celebration of Swiss culture and traditions, but also an opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations between Switzerland and Indonesia, as well as foster connections among all the communities present at the event.
